Tuesday, November 18, 2014, 6:19 PM - Environment Canada weather data describing an interesting-looking cloud has gone viral, garnering thousands of views and coverage by media outlets. Stranger things have happened.

A screen capture of the image taken from Canada's Aviation Weather Website Monday was uploaded to the website Imgur and posted on the content-sharing site Reddit.

It's been gaining popularity ever since.

The data, taken from Environment Canada's official weather observation log and composed by a Sudbury, Ont. observer, describes a "cloud that looks like a puppy."

An informal survey of Weather Network meteorologists say that while funny, the classification may not be all that helpful.

After all, what looks like a puppy to some may look like something entirely different to someone else.

But perhaps the observer was excited about the cloud's striking resemblance to man's best friend and simply had to share. Unfortunately, there is no picture of the now-famous cloud, but maybe it looked something like this, submitted to The Weather Network back in July of 2013. If you happen to come upon this 'puppy cloud' phenomenon in the sky, we want your photos! Upload them here or here:
