Friday, October 31, 2014, 4:35 PM - Michigan dentist Dr. Susan M. Dennis is offering to buy back kids' Halloween candy so she can send it to soldiers deployed overseas.
In addition to the $1/pound that Dr. Dennis is offering for new, wrapped candy, all donors will be put in a draw to win an iPod Touch.
Dr. Dennis is teaming up with Operation Gratitude to roll out the event, which she started participating in three years ago.
For her, it's a win-win situation.
"We want Michigan kids to have healthy teeth and beautiful smiles," she told M Live in 2011. "Our team is encouraging children to treat our troops with a portion of their Halloween candy."
The buyback will take place about a week after Halloween.
Kids are being invited tor write letters to troops to go along with the candy.
Operation Gratitude is a non-profit organization that sends more than 150,000 care packages annually to U.S. service members deployed overseas.
