The U.S. Forest Fire Service said late Wednesday night that the Yarnell Hill fire is now 100 percent contained.
The fire started late last month and burned through about 3,300 hectares of land.
The fire also claimed the lives of 19 members of the elite "Granite Mountain Hotshots" crew as the firefighters attempted to protect the town of Yarnell.
On Tuesday, thousands of people attended a memorial service for the men and the first funerals began on Wednesday.
Estimates show between 114 and 129 structures were destroyed in the fire.
Residents were able to return to the area this week.
