Saturday, October 3, 2015, 7:25 AM - A chilly weekend for most of the country, greeted with snow in some parts of the west.

Here's your Saturday morning briefing.

Atlantic Canada

  • Maritimes: Scattered showers continue for parts of the Maritimes, easing into the late afternoon and evening. Chilly temperatures.
  • Newfoundland: Cool and breezy weekend ahead ahead. Hurricane Joaquin likely to stay south of Atlantic Canada, though winds will pick up into the middle of the week.

Ontario and Quebec

  • Ontario: Showers push into southwestern Ontario later in the morning. The western GTA could see showers by the late morning, early afternoon, though the further east of the GTA you are, the likelier you are to miss them. Sunday likely overcast.
  • QuebecHigh pressure stretches into Quebec. Dry and cool conditions in store for southern portions of the province.

Western Canada

  • Prairies:  Snow in the Hinton and Edson areas overnight, continuing to creep south. Mixing or snow possible in the morning for Calgary, though precipitation moves out fairly fast from Alberta, leaving rain and mixing for Saskatchewan later Saturday into Sunday. Cold in Alberta Saturday, with daytime highs not far above freezing. Manitoba sees fair conditions and seasonal temperatures Saturday.
  • British Columbia: Scattered showers in the southern interior in the morning, clearing out fairly quickly to give way to sun and cloud. Seasonal or above seasonal temperatures into next week.
