Thursday, November 26, 2015, 9:52 AM - Temperatures slowly start to rebound in western Canada, while parts of Ontario and east brace for more significant rain and snow. Here's your Thursday weather brief.

Atlantic Canada

  • Maritimes: Mainly sunny skies are forecast across the region today. Temperatures will be seasonal and will trend even milder into Friday with double digit highs possible. Rain will start to push into northern parts of the Maritimes Friday, sinking south Friday night and Saturday morning.
  • Newfoundland: Special weather statements have been issued for western parts of Newfoundland with significant rain and snow possible Friday into Saturday.

Ontario & Quebec

  • Ontario: Enjoy it while you can. Mild temperatures are forecast once again across southern Ontario Thursday, before a sharp cool down behind a system Friday night. Showers will also accompany that system with some light mixing or flurries possible as temperatures drop for the start of the weekend. In northern Ontario, a boundary tracking through has sparked special weather statements and snowfall warnings in northeastern Ontario. Up to 20 cm of snow possible. More details here.
  • Quebec: A snowfall warning has also been issued for northern Quebec, while southern portions of the province will see sun/cloud and above seasonal temperatures Thursday.

Western Canada

  • Prairies: Temperatures to remain below seasonal across the Prairies Thursday, but daytime highs will make a rebound into Friday for the weekend. "Northeastern Manitoba will be the only area to see some light snow tonight and Friday with a few weak passing systems," says Weather Network meteorologist Kelly Sonnenburg.
  • British Columbia: A sunny and cool day expected for the province with temperatures a few degrees below seasonal. "A gradual warming trend into the weekend with high pressure dominating over the next few days," Sonnenburg says.
