Wednesday, November 25, 2015, 6:58 AM - Wintry conditions have been making a mess of roads in parts of western Canada and Ontario, but Wednesday is expected to bring a lull in active weather for most. Here's your daily weather brief.
Atlantic Canada
- Maritimes: The region will be predominantly sunny and cool Wednesday, with the Maritimes to see a warm-up over the next couple of days.
- Newfoundland: Sea effect snow showers are set to take place across western and northern Newfoundland through the day. St. John's will dry out, but scattered flurries are possible in the evening.
Ontario & Quebec
- Ontario: High pressure will keep things dry, sunny, and cooler than usual in southern Ontario, while northwestern Ontario contends with about 10 cm of snow into areas north of Geraldton through Wednesday night. Rain will move into Cottage Country Thursday, followed by a rain/snow mix Friday.
- Quebec: Wednesday brings a nice but cool day to southern Quebec as showers slide up over areas through Thursday. High pressure will dominate for the next few days, allowing temperatures to boost well above seasonal values by the end of the week.
Western Canada
- Prairies: Edmonton is seeing double-digit low temperatures Wednesday morning, with Edmonton dropping to -29 C, feeling closer to -36. Snowfall is tapering off for Saskatchewan and Manitoba, with blowing snow still likely to affect the former until noon, the latte through the afternoon until the evening.
- British Columbia: A quiet few days ahead as a blocking pattern holds. Lows track well north of the region, and high temperatures remain.
