Friday, November 20, 2015, 7:57 AM - Conditions continue to improve through the Prairies, while Ontario braces for three rounds of snow this weekend. Waves of moisture set to impact Atlantic Canada. Here's your Friday weather brief.

Atlantic Canada

  • Maritimes: Rain expected to move slowly east through the Maritimes Friday as rain begins to dissipates on Saturday. The next batch of rain from the Ontario system is set to move in Sunday.
  • Newfoundland: High pressure dominates through the weekend keeping things dry, but a system with tropical moisture is set to develop Monday and Tuesday bringing heavy rain and strong winds over the region.

Ontario and Quebec

  • Ontario: Two rounds of snow squalls and system snow set to bring wintry conditions to much of Ontario through the weekend. Snow squalls will impact snowbelt regions Friday, followed by a low pressure system that will move in Saturday bringing both rain and snow across southern Ontario. As the system departs, snow squalls will intensify once again on Sunday. Get the full details here
  • Quebec: Rain moves out of Quebec City Friday morning with clear and calm conditions expected Saturday before another round of precipitation moves in late Saturday.

Western Canada

  • Prairies: A weak trough brought snow showers through parts of the southern foothills and Calgary overnight, which tapered by Friday morning. Lake effect snow continues off the Manitoba lakes affecting travel in the area. Temperatures across the Prairies expected to remain below seasonal Friday before a slight warm up in Alberta Saturday into Sunday.
  • British Columbia: Dry conditions persist through the south coast of BC with a chance of light flurries through the Interior mountains as a weak trough moves south.
