Sunday, June 28, 2015, 9:04 AM - The two halves of Canada could not be any more different Sunday, in terms of temperature.

The east is cool and damp, while the west is dry and gripped with record-breaking heat.

Here's a coast-to-coast roundup.

Atlantic Canada

  • Maritimes: Stronger winds and rain to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia later Sunday, temperatures in the mid teens. Conditions improve Monday, though with lingering cloud.
  • Newfoundland: Sunday is toasty, with temperatures in the 20-25oC mark, but an approaching low arrives and weakens into Monday morning, with showers and strong winds for the Port-aux-Basques area.

Ontario and Quebec

  • Ontario: Fall-like weather continues, with temperatures in the mid-teens, approaching 20oC in the southwest. Heaviest rains will be in eastern Ontario, ending through the afternoon.
  • Quebec: 20-30 mm of rain will fall on southern Quebec by the time the system moves out Monday morning. Cool temperatures continue for Sunday.

Western Canada

  • Prairies: Mainly sunny across the board, with temperatures just above or below 30oC. Storm potential for north and central Manitoba, northern Saskatchewan and northern Ontario, as well as some supercell potential along the Alberta foothills.
  • British Columbia: Hot weather continues, with more than 30 heat records broken Saturday. A disturbance coming in from the Pacific tracks in from the southwest, bringing thunderstorm and shwoer potential into the afternoon and tomorrow.
