Wednesday, July 29, 2015, 6:36 AM - Warm weather will continue to dominate in Ontario for a few days while temperatures pick up out west. Meanwhile, single-digit highs are headed to the east coast.

Atlantic Canada

  • Maritimes: There's potential for an isolated thunderstorm near PEI, southeastern New Brunswick and northern Nova Scotia Wednesday.
  • Newfoundland: Special weather statements are in effect for a system tracking up the coast. More than 30 mm of rain could fall through Thursday, combined with winds gusting up to 90 km/h. Temperatures will be much cooler in St. John's Thursday, feeling close to 9C.

Ontario & Quebec

  • Ontario: Hot, humid, and sunny conditions continue in parts of Ontario, with warm conditions expected to persist until Thursday. Southern Ontario is expecting to feel like the high-30s Wednesday. There is a chance of isolated thunderstorms in southwestern Ontario into the evening, while Cottage Country could see some showers Wednesday evening.
  • Quebec: Southern Quebec is expected to be hot Wednesday, feeling close to 40 with the humidex.

Western Canada

  • Prairies: Rain is expected to continue for southern Manitoba Wednesday, with winds likely gusting up to 70 kilometres per hour. Warming temperatures could spark a slight risk of thunderstorms along the Alberta foothills, including Red Deer and surrounding areas.
  • British Columbia: A series of systems are expected to bring light-to-moderate rain to the central and north coast over the next few days. Meanwhile, conditions in the south stay dry as temperatures soar through the Interior heading into the weekend.
