Saturday, April 18, 2015, 7:15 AM - A rosy weekend ahead, although not everyone's skies are clear, and a cooldown looms for millions of Canadians.
Here's a look ahead for Saturday, April 18.
Atlantic Canada
- Maritimes: Rain moves through southwestern Nova Scotia overnight, along with a chance of some snow, before clearing out in the predawn hours. Cooler temperatures continue into next week. Next system moves in on Tuesday.
- Newfoundland: Light flurries possible over western Newfoundland as drizzle moves across the Avalon. Colder temperatures dominate.
Quebec and Ontario
- Ontario: Milder temperatures continue, before returning to seasonal Sunday, and below seasonal by Wednesday. Showers in eastern Ontario Saturday, and in southern Ontario late Sunday night, with a second wave Monday evening.
- Quebec: Showers move through southern Quebec, clearing by the evening. Slight risk of non-severe thunderstorms. Sunday seasonal and sunny before rain moves in Monday through Wednesday.
Western Canada
- Prairies: Rain continues in Saskatchewan, showers moving into Manitoba in the afternoon. Snow in northern Manitoba tonight into Sunday, light flurries in the south Sunday overnight. Temperatures slightly below seasonal in the western Prairies before rebounding Monday, but Manitoba remains warm Saturday before dropping below seasonal for Sunday and the rest of the week.
- British Columbia: High pressure keeps skies clear. Warm temperatures along the south coast, high teens generally, with about 20oC temps in the Interior.
