One person is dead in a massive crash on one of Ontario's busiest highways.

The four-vehicle crash happened Sunday morning on the QEW near Dixie Road, just west of Toronto.

Aside from the fatality, three other people have been taken to hospital.

At least one of the vehicles involved in the collision was from the Ministry of Transportation, according to police.

The highway's east-bound lanes are closed as police investigate the crash, and the closure is causing significant traffic delays. The lanes are expected to re-open around noon.
