Cooler weekend ahead for the Prairies

Saturday, August 30, 2014, 10:43 AM - Temperatures fell down to seasonal levels on Friday, and it looks to stay at that level, or just below, for most of the weekend on the Prairies.
There's rain on the way for the region also, thanks to a cold front that is expected to pass through.
"The system will be principally rain, but we can't rule out some embedded thunderstorms," Weather Network meteorologist Kelly Sonnenburg said early Saturday morning.
The rain in Saskatchewan, such that falls, will mostly be due to the cold front.
But the rains in Alberta, meanwhile, are more likely to be due to upsloping along the foothills, and the effects of a weak, upper level trough.
Non-severe storms are also in the cards for the B.C. Interior, meanwhile, due to unsettled conditions.
There are presently no watches or warnings in effect for any of the Prairie provinces.
