Thursday, January 29, 2015, 7:47 AM - Snow is set to hit southern Ontario Thursday courtesy of a weak clipper system.

THURSDAY'S CLIPPER TO IMPACT THE EVENING COMMUTE

"Light snow will begin mid-morning Thursday, persisting through the day and into the overnight hours," says Weather Network meteorologist Tyler Hamilton. The storm is expected to have the biggest impact on the evening commute.

Between 5 and 15 cm is expected between Windsor and Ottawa, and as far north as Wawa. While wind isn't expected to be an issue on Thursday, the snow that falls will be light and powdery, making it quick to blow around.

"Take extra care if you're commuting in the evening as falling snow will be easily blown around, making for some dicier conditions," cautions Weather Network meteorologist Dayna Vettese.

To find out the exact time the snow will start, have a look at our "Precip Start Stop" graph found on your city page.

On Friday temperatures are expected to fall 15-18C behind the system, making it feel like -30 with the windchill and the winds will pick up in intensity.

ANOTHER CHANCE FOR SNOW SUNDAY

Another system could bring a few additional centimetres of snowfall accumulation Sunday into Monday.

Forecasters says they are keeping an eye on a gulf low that's expected to track towards the Great Lakes area, but add that it's still to early to know how much (if any) snow will fall.

Check back for additional updates as the forecast models become more consistent.
