After a day in the snow, hot cocoa and apple cider probably sound great. But at Bad Weather Brewing in Minnesota, they want beer to take over as the perfect winter warmer.
Zac Carpenter is the head brewer at Bad Weather Brewing. He believes that beer is, and should be, more than just a product on a shelf.
"We have a variety of different weather here in Minnesota," said Carpenter. "It makes it interesting, and we need some interesting beer to go with it."
Like the seasons, their beers change with the weather. Between the blizzards in the winter and tornadoes in the summer, the weather extremes help mold the brewery's selection.
Getting a little snowy and dare we say...Ominous out there.

"We became 'Bad Weather Brewing' because of my home brewing days. It seemed like every time we needed a brew it was horrible outside."
All the brewery's beers are weather-themed, each bringing up deeper flavours from that season. So what's the perfect beer for winter?
"Ominous is our winter seasonal. We want you to think of foreboding some serious weather coming in, some ominous clouds coming in...all the things you would associate with Minnesota," said Carpenter.
At 7.5% abv, Ominous has layers to stand up to the most frigid of winter nights or rain-soaked spring days.
The company's brews will be available initially in the Twin Cities metro area expanding into greater Minnesota as production allows. For more information on Bad Weather Brewing and its products, click here.
