New Beach Report forecasts just about every waterfront spot

Find Your Forecast

Wednesday, August 12, 2015, 3:00 AM - It's no day at the beach when weather takes a turn. Visit the extensive Beach Reports from The Weather Network for all you need to know before you hit the sand.

Our new Beach Report forecasts the weather for just about every waterfront spot in Canada and the United States, with current water-quality information and a description of what each location has to offer. Find the beach spot nearest you or your destination on the interactive map, or look up your favourites by province, state and name.

    Surf's Up

Whether you're looking for somewhere to go swimming, throw out a fishing line or simply settle on the sand, our Beach Conditions offer detailed information about the type of beach you'll encounter.

Beyond the sandy shores, be prepared for changing water conditions, including temperature, swimming conditions and water quality.

Is it safe to swim? Before diving in, check out up-to-date Water Quality levels and ratings, provided by Waterkeeper Swim Guide. It is possible for conditions to change after samples are taken, so please use your own discretion and observe any signs posted at the beach or additional advisories issued by official government agencies.

    Rain or Shine

Don't let a little rain in the forecast ruin your beach day. Use the hourly forecast of Wet and Dry Hours to find the best times to avoid the precipitation.

    Sunscreen, bug spray or both?

The UV rating lets you know when sun's rays will be strongest at your preferred spot, while our pollen outlook indicates what lakeside plants are packing a potent punch this allergy season.

And then there are the critters. Unfortunately, this season is shaping up to be the summer of bugs. Our Bug Report has you covered, with low to high activity ratings for the most common summer pests.

So put your best flip-flop forward and plan your next beach day with The Weather Network.
