Friday, May 27, 2016, 3:08 PM - It could be a chilly weekend for Newfoundland
Newfoundland and some areas across Atlantic Canada may experience a rather chilly weekend, while the rest of the country sweats it out!
A northeast flow could bring quite a change in temperatures to NFLD, and across the Maritimes throughout the weekend; the Avalon Peninsula could see single digit highs with wind chills below 0. The associated front may bring showers, and even fog throughout the weekend.
Be prepared to see a flake or two of snow on Sunday! NFLD is looking the most unsettled that day with chances of heavier downpours and cooler temperatures pre-dawn on Sunday. A total of 10-15 mm is expected to fall through the weekend and more significant rain is expect for Monday.
Contrasting temperatures are expected for the Maritimes. Fredericton is expecting a high of 28°C on Saturday and inland areas of Southern Nova Scotia may approach 30°C.
