A massive thunderstorm rolled across Sydney, Australia on Wednesday, slowing the evening commute with major road and train delays.
Flooding on city streets added to the travel chaos and resulted in a multi-vehicle accident in the eastern suburbs.
Twitter erupted with stunning images of what many residents called an "apocalyptic" storm.

As the thunderstorm passed, some flights due to arrive at Sydney Airport were diverted to other Australia airports including Canberra and Brisbane.
According to an airport spokesman, all flights were back to normal by 6:30 pm.
Meteorologists say the sunny and warm day suddenly turned as the thunderstorm approached through the afternoon hours.
There's the potential for more storms over the next few days.
