An Alberta Clipper is expected to enter Quebec and remain in the region through the day Saturday.

"This system will bring moderate snow for areas in southern Quebec with reduced visibility," says Marie-Josée Grégoire, a meteorologist at The Weather Network's sister station, MétéoMédia.

The storm is expected to move through the area quickly, bringing sustained winds between 20 and 40 km/h with gusts up to 50 kilometres per hour.

"Behind this system, the winds intensify and bring lower temperatures for Sunday," Grégoire says.

"Snow squalls are expected from Abitibi to Estrie , as well as snow showers and gusty winds between 50 and 60 kilometres per hour."

By the time all is said and done, Ottawa can expect up to 10 cm of snow, the Laurentians will see nearly 10 cm, while Montreal could see up to 15 centimetres.
