Wednesday, October 22, 2014, 10:59 AM - Tropical Depression Nine is headed toward the Mexican state of Campeche, with the potential to strengthen into Tropical Storm Hanna.

According to the U.S. National Hurricane Center, the depression remains "poorly organized" and an "air force plane is currently investigating the cyclone."

A tropical storm warning is in effect in Mexico from Celestun to Frontera.

The depression is expected to produce total rainfall accumulations of 130-250 mm across the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico with a maximum of 380 mm possible.

"These rainfall amounts may produce life-threatening flash floods," the NHC adds.
