You wouldn't expect a two-legged chihuahua and a fluffy chicken to become best friends. But these two aren't your ordinary pets.
Alicia Williams, an employee at Duluth Animal Hospital in Georgia, made a home for the pair at her house and at the office.

The chicken named Penny was adopted first, followed by Roo, who gets around using a special wheelchair.
The story has captivated the hearts of many and Williams says some clients will even schedule their appointments around the animals' schedules.
Penny was an experimental chicken at an animal facility and Roo was about seven weeks old when he was rescued from a ditch in a park.
"It was probably a backyard breeder, breeding a bunch of puppies and he ended up deformed," Williams told gwinnettdailypost.com. "He was probably dropped off because he couldn't sell him."
Their caretaker says sometimes Penny likes to steal Roo's treats and chew toys, but they're the best of friends and have even been caught snuggling together.
