Residents of southern Ontario may want to give themselves some extra time on their drive home.
Between 5 and 15 mm of rain are expected across the region Thursday evening, courtesy of a weak surface low mixed with strong upper level energy.
"Most places will see about 10 mm of rain," say Doug Gillham, a meteorologist at The Weather Network.
The rain began moving into the region around 4 p.m.

While torrential downpours aren't in the forecast, Gillham warns that the showers could be significant in some places.
The conditions should diminish into scattered showers by the late evening.
