The City of Calgary is no stranger to early snowstorms.
A storm on September 16, 2003, dumped over 8 cm on the city.
But the last five days of September 1925 still stand as the snowiest start to fall, since record keeping began in 1881.
It snowed on each of those five days.
The snow dominated headlines, as it halted farming operations across southern Alberta at the height of threshing season.
