A rare, 5 metre oarfish was recently spotted just off Catalina Island in southern California.
It was discovered by a Marine Institute instructor, who approached the snake-like fish very cautiously before she realized it was dead.
It took 15 adults to move it to shore.
Experts say it's extremely rare to find an oarfish, dead or alive.
That's because it's believed the species mostly lives in waters more than 900 metres deep, leaving them largely unstudied by scientists.
The giant oarfish is the longest bony fish species and it can reach a length of 17 metres.
