More than 1,000 Lac-Megantic residents have been allowed home after last weekend's devastating tanker-train derailment.

Officials told a news conference Tuesday morning that 1,200 out of about 2,000 evacuees are being given the green light to head home.

That's as crews continue to search for as many as 30 people still missing.

On Wednesday, Quebec police confirmed the death toll had climbed to twenty.

The first bodies found on the weekend are being examined in Montreal to determine their identity.

The coroner's office is asking the relatives of people missing to provide DNA to help identify victims.
