All BlackBerry® models that have an Operating System of 4.1 and above will work.
Go to the BlackBerry® Options and "About". Under the details beside platform will be the O/S version.
Go to the "Options" screen click on edit beside the city.
Go to "Options" in the application and ensure that the check box for "display home-screen weather icon" has been checked.
Go to "Options" in the application and click on the default update setting "every 30 minutes". It can be changed to 1 hr, 2hr, or 4 hr.
Open applications will tend to use more battery power. Close the application if you are not using it.
If you receive a message to download a new version of WeatherEye and decide NOT to re-boot your device it may cause you to lose the application. You will need to re-install the application by going through the sign-up process: theweathernetwork.com/mobile/applications. If you decide to update the application version always make sure you re-boot.
The average data used by the application is about 1 MB per month but can vary depending on usage.
Try the following:
—Go into "Manage Connections" on your BlackBerry deck and turn your "radio on" or "restore mobile network connections". Sometimes the radio will turn off when your battery is low.
—Open up the WeatherEye application, go into the Options screen, then click on "configure network settings" (near the bottom) then click on Automatic Detection. This should re-connect your settings.
Please ensure you do not have "www" after the http:// BlackBerry adds this in as a default setting.
If your device loses connectivity, the icon may not update with the current condition until you open the application.
The WeatherEye does not provide forecasts for some international cities. We are working to extend our coverage.
