June 21 marks the first day of summer in the northern hemisphere, but it's also National Aboriginal Day in Canada.

The spotlight is on First Nations people, and it's a chance to celebrate their thriving culture and introduce it to others. For some, it's an opportunity to tell difficult stores.

We talked to several people of First Nations descent to ask them what it meant to them. Here's what they said.
