What is the benefit of iTV on The Weather Network?
With iTV on The Weather Network, you can now choose the local forecast area of your choice which will provide you with a customized local forecast from a selection of over 450 cities. The interactive capability also allows you to access on-demand weather information for other cities anytime you want with the touch of your remote. Without interactive capabilities on Bell ExpressVu, you cannot get localized weather forecasts or on-demand weather information on The Weather Network.

To activate the interactive capabilities you must press SELECT on your remote. Step by step instructions will show you how to set the local forecast area of your choice and access on-demand weather information. If you do not set your local forecast city, then you will not see localized weather information.

Getting weather information on Bell ExpressVu is better than ever before and there is no fee for these interactive capabilities.

What channels are The Weather Network and MétéoMédia on?
Bell ExpressVu subscribers with iTV capable receivers can take advantage of the new features available on The Weather Network and MétéoMédia on the following channels:

The Weather Network:
Channel 506 (for customers with dual tuner 3200, 5200 and the HD 6100 receiver)
Channel 505 and 506 (for customers with 3100, 4100, 5100, 5800, and 5900 receivers)
MétéoMédia:
Channel 125 (for customers with dual tuner 3200, 5200 and the HD 6100 receiver)
Channel 130 and 125 (for customers with 3100, 4100, 5100, 5800, and 5900 receivers)

Model numbers can be found on the bottom front corner of the receiver. If you do not have an iTV capable receiver you will not see the interactive application.

Why are there two channels for The Weather Network?
Due to technical reasons, dual tuners 3200, 5200 and the HD 6100 receiver cannot run the interactive application on channel 505. A second channel (channel 506) was created to allow the interactive application to run for dual tuners 3200, 5200 and the HD 6100 receiver. If you have receiver 3100, 4100, 5100, 5800, or 5900, you will be able to access interactive capabilities on The Weather Network on both channel 505 and 506.

Model numbers can be found on the bottom front corner of the receiver. If you do not have an iTV capable receiver you will not see the interactive application.

Which cities are available for me to select from?

There are over 250 Canadian cities to select from. In total you can select from over 450 cities around the world.

When and what other cities will be added to the selection of cities I can choose from?
If your city is not on thelist, the next closest city should be selected. It is anticipated that more cities will be added, but the timing for this has not yet been defined. A record of all the cities requested by users of the service will be kept to assist with the city expansion list in the future. If you would like to request a city to be added to the expansion list, please email us at twntv@pelmorex.com.

I cannot find my city on the list. What should I do?
The current list consists of over 450 cities, but this list is expected to grow in the future. Please select a city close to yours. Please email iTVFeedback@expressvu.com to let us know which cities you would like to see added.

How can I save or change the local city on my receiver?
Follow these easy step by step instructions to save or change your local forecast city.

1 . Tune to The Weather Network.

2. Press the SELECT button on the remote to access the interactive section.
If the application is still loading, a "Please Wait" message will be displayed. Otherwise you will be taken to the "Select Your City" screen.

Note: If you do not get a response after pressing the SELECT button, wait for 20 to 30 seconds and try again.
3. Using the UP/DOWN buttons on the remote, you can navigate to the Province field. Browse through the Province list using the LEFT/ RIGHT buttons on the remote until the desired province is displayed.

4. Using the UP/DOWN buttons on the remote, navigate to the City field, located just below the province. Browse through the city list using the LEFT/RIGHT buttons on the remote until the desired city is displayed.
Note: each province has a specific list of cities associated with it. If your city is not listed please choose a city close to yours.
5. To save the displayed city as your local forecast city, press the 1 button on the remote. The “Currently Saved City” field will immediately go to the selected city.
Once the local forecast city has been saved, you will see the local conditions for your selected city every time you tune to The Weather Network.
6. Press CANCEL to return to the full screen video which will show you one of The Weather Network’s local weather information products.
NOTE: If your local forecast city has not been saved, you will not see localized weather information.

What will my TV screen look like once I have selected my local forecast city?
You will see a variety of local weather information products for your local forecast city once you have selected and saved it. As an example, you can get a local forecast L-shaped product which will look like this:

Can I view weather information for cities other than my local forecast city?
Yes. You can request weather information for over 450 cities. Follow these easy step by step instructions to request weather information for other cities.

1. Tune to The Weather Network.

4. Using the UP/DOWN buttons on the remote, navigate to the City field, located just below the province. Browse through the city list using the LEFT/RIGHT buttons on the remote until the desired city is displayed.

5. Using the LEFT/RIGHT buttons on the remote will allow you to see weather information for that city.

6. Press CANCEL twice to return to full screen video.
NOTE: Viewing or changing a city for on-demand weather information will not affect your saved local forecast city.

Why can I not change the channel with my numeric keys on my 6100 HD receiver?
Due to technical reasons, when you are watching The Weather Network with the 6100HD receiver, you cannot change the channel on your remote by using the numeric keys. Instead, use the UP/DOWN buttons or GUIDE button to change channels.

How can I remove the warning on The Weather Network?
Weather warnings are an important and vital service provided by Environment Canada to alert you to severe or dangerous weather conditions which are imminent or occurring and cannot be cancelled or removed.

Why isn’t the application available on The Weather Network?
The application is only available on iTV-enabled receivers; 3100, 3200, 4100, 5100, 5200, 5800, 5900, 6100 models. The model number can be found on the bottom front corner of your receiver. The application is not currently available on the 9200 model.

Why does the PVR functionality not work on The Weather Network?
Currently the application has restrictions on the use of PVR functionality on The Weather Network.

I pressed one of the PVR buttons right after tuning to The Weather Network and now the video is frozen. What should I do?
On the 5800 receiver (the model number can be found on the bottom front corner of your receiver), pressing any of the PVR buttons right after tuning to the channel (but before the application starts loading) will cause the video to freeze. The problem can be fixed by pressing the RECALL button, which will take you to the previous channel. From there you can tune back to The Weather Network.

Why does The Weather Network take a while to load?
The Weather Network can take several seconds to load because the receiver requires some time to download the interactive content for The Weather Network.

How do I access the Help screen?
Press the # button on your remote to access the Help Screen in the Interactive part of the application.
