Cancun is located on the northeast tip of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, and is bordered by the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico.

With its stunning white sand beaches and sunny, hot climate, Cancun is one of the world's major tourists resorts as well as the gateway to the stunning Mayan Riviera.

Be sure to take a trip to the nearby and world famous ancient Mayan city of Chichén Itzá.

Annual daytime highs in Cancun range from 28 to 33 degrees Celsius, while nighttime lows range from 12 to 24 degrees.

Expect to see some rain about 6 days per month from September to January -- just what you'll need after a long day in the sun.

Tourists should be aware that Cancun can be affected by tropical depressions, tropical storms and hurricanes during the Atlantic hurricane season, which runs from June 1 to November 30.
