Montego Bay is located on the northwest coast of Jamaica, and is bordered by the Caribbean Sea. It has become Jamaica's premiere tourist destination for obvious reasons.
Tourists say it's the breathtaking turquoise waters, delicate white sands, palm-covered hills and flowering trees that make "Mobay" the complete resort.
Christopher Columbus also had an eye for the extraordinary, calling Montego Bay "the gulf of good weather," and rightfully so. Annual daytime highs in the city range from 28 to 31 degrees Celsius, while nighttime lows range from 19 to 23 degrees.
Brief afternoon showers occur about 4 days per month from May to October, but it's just what you'll need to cool yourself down.
Be sure to catch the annual Reggae Sumfest festival in Montego Bay in August. And if golfing is your pleasure, some of the world's best rounds can be enjoyed at Montego Bay's four 18-hole championship golf courses, including the renowned Tryall Golf, Tennis and Beach Club.
Tourists should be aware that Montego Bay can be affected by tropical depressions, tropical storms and hurricanes during the Atlantic hurricane season, which runs from June 1 to November 30.
