Kingston is located on the southeast coast of Jamaica, and is bordered by the Caribbean Sea. It is the capital city of Jamaica and believed by many to be the heartbeat of the island.
Rich in historical and cultural attractions and intriguing nightlife and dining establishments, Kingston sits at the foot of the Blue Mountains and overlooks the world's seventh-largest natural harbour.
It is also in Kingston where Jamaica's own infectious reggae music was born. The city also boasts a spectacular arts and crafts market and duty free shopping can be found all over.
There is certainly no shortage of heat in Kingston, where annual daytime highs range from 28 to 31 degrees Celsius and nighttime lows range from 19 to 22 degrees.
Brief afternoon showers occur about 4 days per month from May to October, but it's just what you'll need to cool yourself down.
Tourists should be aware that Kingston can be affected by tropical depressions, tropical storms and hurricanes during the Atlantic hurricane season, which runs from June 1 to November 30.
