Wind Chill Warning : Ste. Rose - McCreary - Alonsa - Gladstone Issued at 3:26 PM CST Friday 11 December 2009

Cold temperatures, combined with a strengthening northwesterly gradient, will produce extreme wind chills of minus 40 to minus 45 over parts of Southwestern Manitoba overnight and on Saturday. This is a warning that extreme wind chill conditions are imminent or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.

Cold Arctic air combined with a strengthening northwesterly wind will surge southward into Western Manitoba tonight. As a result extreme wind chills of minus 40 to minus 45 are expected overnight and Saturday over west Central Manitoba. Extreme wind chills will likely spread into the remainder of Southern Manitoba Saturday night. At these extreme wind chill values frostbite on exposed skin may occur in less than 10 minutes.
