This is the report for October 16th 2009.
The following table tracks the progress of the fall colours in Québec's various tourist regions. This coloration varies not only according to plant species, but also to geographic location—particularly latitude—and sunlight.
The percentage indicated corresponds to the approximate area covered by the fall colours; the remainder represents all the shades of green or brown. As soon as the percentage hits 25%, the visual effect is remarkable. And while gusts of wind may strip the boughs bare, there's nothing quite like walking over a carpet of gold, red and yellow!

Note: The table is updated on Fridays based on the information gathered throughout the week. The data is kindly provided by the designated observers in each region for information purposes only. The coloration % shows the percentage of leaves that changed colours (yellow, red, orange). In the legend, "Past peak" means that tones of brown are mingled with the other colours and that the leaves are beginning to fall.
