Recommended Action

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flooddeaths occur in vehicles.Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Description

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.* WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the followingcounties, Brazoria, Galveston and Harris.* WHEN...Until 700 PM CDT.* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.Water over roadways. Ponding of water in urban or other areas isoccurring or is imminent.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 442 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gaugesindicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding isongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen.- Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall isexpected.- Some locations that will experience flooding include...Southeastern Pasadena, Pearland, League City, GalvestonCauseway, Galveston Island West End, Texas City, Friendswood,La Porte, Alvin, Dickinson, La Marque, Santa Fe, Seabrook,Webster, Hitchcock, northeastern Manvel, Kemah, Clear Lake,South Belt / Ellington and Galveston Pier 21.- http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
