...The National Weather Service in Albuquerque NM has issued a FloodAdvisory for the following rivers in New Mexico...Rio Chama Below Chamita affecting Rio Arriba County.Rio Chama Below Abiquiu Dam affecting Rio Arriba County..High mountain snow melt and increased reservoir releases will causethe river flows to become high. Expect minor flooding downstreamfrom the dam.* WHAT...Flooding caused by upstream dam release is expected.* WHERE...Rio Chama Below Abiquiu Dam.* WHEN...From this morning until further notice.* IMPACTS...At 4.8 feet, Bankfull Stage. Approximately 1460 cfs.Houses near Highway 84 along river will see water begin toencroach their yards. Cattle that cross the river at lower flowsmay be trapped on one side or the other. If flows out of the RioOjo Caliente are 550 cfs or higher properties near and below theconfluence with the Rio Chama may encroachment of water onto landimmediately adjacent to the river along with bank erosion.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 7:15 AM MDT Tuesday the stage was 4.7 feet.- Bankfull stage is 4.8 feet.- Forecast...The river is expected to remain steady below floodstage at 4.8 feet.- Action stage is 4.8 feet.- Flood stage is 5.4 feet.- http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
