Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which arepotentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross floodedroads. Find an alternate route.

Description

* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall isexpected.* WHERE...A portion of Panhandle Florida, including the followingcounties, Bay, Holmes, Jackson, Walton and Washington.* WHEN...Until 1230 PM CDT.* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.River or stream flows are elevated.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...- At 1124 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due tothunderstorms. This will cause small stream flooding. Between3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen.- Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expectedover the area. This additional rain will result in minorflooding.- Some locations that will experience flooding include...Vernon, Bonifay, Chipley, De Funiak Springs, Graceville,Marianna, Santa Rosa Beach, Eglin Air Force Base, Bradford,Union, Liberty, Live Oak, Malone, Freeport, Cottondale,Greenwood, Paxton, Ponce De Leon, Alford and Caryville.- http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
