First you will need to click on the the “x” icon to remove the WeatherEye gadget from your sidebar. Then click here to download the newest version of The Weather Network’s Vista sidebar gadget.
To install the WeatherEye Gadget for Vista, click the plus sign at the top of the sidebar. This will open your gadget library. If you have previously downloaded the gadget from either The Weather Networks website, or Microsoft’s Gadget website, you will see a yellow WeatherEye icon in the list of available gadgets. Click on this gadget, and drag and drop it onto the sidebar. The gadget is now installed and ready to provide weather information and alerts for a city that you select.
If you do not find the yellow WeatherEye icon in your gadget library, please click here to download the gadget.
With the gadget open, click on the gadget, a menu should appear near the upper right hand corner of the gadget. Here you will see a small wrench, click on this to access the options page. The options page will open, and here you will be able to choose the temperature measurement you would like your weather displayed. Click ok, to save the changes.
To change a city you would like to view, click on the small wrench to access the options menu. Enter in the first few letters of your city and either hit the enter key or the search icon. You will be presented with either a list of cities to choose from a drop down list or the city will be listed above the search box. Choose your city, then click the ok button to save your changes. Your city is now available through the gadget.
Yes, you can add as many WeatherEye gadgets to the sidebar if you wish. Go to the gadget library, drag, and drop as many gadgets as you would like to view weather information on. Go into the options menu on each gadget, select the city, and then click okay to save your changes. You will now be able to view weather information on different cites all from your sidebar.
To change you language, click on the small wrench in the upper right hand corner of the gadget to open the options menu. Once in the options menu, select either English or French from the language drop down list. Click ok to save your changes.
If you would like to view additional weather information from the WeatherEye gadget, click the expand arrows, located at the upper left hand corner of the gadget. This will expand or fly out additional information on your city such as observation data, short-term forecast (US/Canada only) and any weather alerts (if present). To close the fly out window, click the two arrows on the upper right hand corner to show the docked gadget in the sidebar.
Yes. Select the WeatherEye gadget from either the corners or from the center of the application, then click on it and drag it onto your desktop. The gadget will expand and will no longer be visible from the sidebar. You can drag the gadget back onto the sidebar by again selected the expanded gadget and dropping it into the sidebar. The WeatherEye gadget will now be back in its original docked or minimized state.
When a weather watch or warning is issued for the city you are viewing from your gadget, a Red bar will appear providing an outline of the warning (ie Winter Storm Watch). To find out more information on the watch or warning, click on the alert. A browser window will open, linking you directly to the full description of the alert on www.theweathernetwork.com. When the watch or warning has stopped, the alert will no longer be visible for your city.
We do sell some additional advertising on the WeatherEye to maintain the product and continue the software development and future growth to make it more serviceable to our users. No, the WeatherEye contains no Spyware. All information and communication flowing through the WeatherEye application comes directly from The Weather Network. We are in no way connected to any of your other computer systems or files. For more information, please refer to our privacy policy
The WeatherEye gadget requires an active internet connection. If this connection is down, the WeatherEye will be unable to display any data.

You can remove the gadget by clicking on the "x". The gadget will now be removed from your sidebar.
