There are several reasons why you may be having trouble downloading WeatherEye GOLF:
—You must have administrative access to download any applications to your computer. If you are unsure if you have administrative access please refer to your Operating System manual or speak with your IT support team. Alternatively, you can prompt the WeatherEye GOLF installer to load the application onto your desktop files. In some instances, the application can run from here but you will need to enter this information during the installation process, please see picture below. Click change and enter new location for files.
—Are you connected to the Internet? An active internet connection is required for the WeatherEye GOLF to get updated data from our servers.
—Do you have a compatible operating system with our WeatherEye GOLF application? XP or Vista operating system is required to operate this application.
—WeatherEye GOLF also requires Microsoft Silverlight 2.0 to run on your Operating System. This run-time is bundled with WeatherEye GOLF for those users who don’t already have Silverlight 2.0 installed. There could have been an error installing Silverlight 2.0 or you could have an earlier version of Silverlight that did not update. Try removing any WeatherEye GOLF and Silverlight programs from your Program Files in your C://Drive and install again.
—When we release a new version, it takes several days to update all of our customers. If you have received a prompt to upgrade but have clicked "later" it may take some time before you see the prompt again. If you want to access the latest version quickly, you can install it from here.
Microsoft® Silverlight™ is a cross-browser, cross-platform, and cross-device plug-in for delivering the next generation of media experiences and rich interactive applications for the Web. WeatherEye GOLF requires Silverlight to run on your computer. More information can be found here.
When you download the WeatherEye GOLF application you will be prompted to choose your course in the Options menu. Start typing your course name and hit “ENTER” or click on the “SEARCH” button. It may take a few seconds to search through the over 17,000 course listings we have in our database. Once the course is populated in the drop down menu, click on the course name. When your selections have all been set to your preferences, click “SAVE”.
 
This information is always optional to complete but does help us in our research and development. This information is not connected to you personally; it is combined with the results of thousands of other users to allow for overall audience results. If you are concerned about the usage of this information, please refer to our privacy policy. Any personal information we gather is never distributed to any outside vendors or agencies without explicit consent from you. If you opt to give us your email, you may be contacted from time to time to participate in optional research surveys form The Weather Network.
There are several reasons why you may not be seeing weather data:

Unfortunately, WeatherEye GOLF has not been compiled for Mac or Linux operating systems.
With WeatherEye GOLF open, click on the "Options" tab located near the top right of the application window then enter a new course in the search bar. Press search and choose the location of the course from the available results. Once you have selected the course, click "SAVE". The new weather information is now available in your WeatherEye GOLF. We have over 17,000 courses available in Canada and the US. NOTE: the search bar can be sensitive to spelling and grammatical errors, please ensure you have typed in the name of the course correctly.
On some operating systems you can download multiple versions of WeatherEye GOLF and have them running on your desktop.
If you click on the COURSE INFO link provide under your golf course name, you will be linked to the website with more information on your favourite course including; location, contact information, par, holes etc.
With WeatherEye GOLF open, click on the "Options" tab located near the top right of the application window, locate the buttons that show Celsius and Fahrenheit. Click on the unit you would like to use then click "SAVE". NOTE: If you have more then one course listed, you must edit each WeatherEye GOLF preference separately.
Unfortunately, due to some limitations in course information, the WeatherEye GOLF is available in English only. We are actively trying to make the product available for French users as well. We will publicize the release when it is available.
The WeatherEye GOLF application is designed to automatically place the required files to run the program within your C:/Program Files. If you are not authorized as the system administrator you will be prompted to place the files elsewhere. The files can then be stored on your desktop and the application should run accordingly.
WeatherEye GOLF works with an embedded browser, if your Internet browser settings are set to work behind your proxy server you should have no issues running the WeatherEye GOLF application.
We do sell some additional advertising on the WeatherEye GOLF to maintain the product and continue the software development and future growth to make it more serviceable to our users. If you have any preferred advertisers that appeal to you, and/or that you would like to see offers from on any of our online products, please send us your comments.
When the WeatherEye GOLF is open, the city name at the top of the application or LONG TERM FORECAST is a direct link to the golf report page on TheWeatherNetwork.com. This will provide you with any additional weather information you may require.
The weather observation data is updated as often as every half and hour and can also be automatically refreshed if you press on the refresh button or hit SHIFT F5 on your keyboard while the WeatherEye GOLF application is in the Maximized Position.
When a weather alert is issued, a flashing lightning bolt will display over the temperature reading within the system tray, and in bold highlighted text within a red bar on the WeatherEye GOLF itself. Clicking on the alert within WeatherEye GOLF will link you to theweathernetwork.com where you will be able to view the entire weather alert for your course and surrounding area.
  
NO, WeatherEye GOLF contains no Spyware. All information and communication flowing through the WeatherEye GOLF application comes directly from The Weather Network. We are in no way connected to any of your other computer systems or files. For more information, please review to our privacy policy.
The WeatherEye GOLF gathers the most up-to-date weather observations from our data via the Internet. Your computer must be connected to the Internet to receive weather data.
Unfortunately, 14-day trend and hourly forecast data are not compiled for golf courses at this time.
With WeatherEye GOLF open, you can click on any of the underlined links located across the top and in the middle of the application to have an internet browser open to www.theweathernetwork.com providing you with in-depth information on:
Think a friend or family member would benefit from having access to up to date weather information directly from their desktop? Clicking on the link located at the bottom right of WeatherEye GOLF will send an invitation email with information your friends and family about the benefits of WeatherEye GOLF from The Weather Network.
To uninstall WeatherEye GOLF from your computer click "Start", then programs. Find The Weather Network WeatherEye GOLF folder, then click on "Uninstall WeatherEye GOLF".
Alternatively, click on your control panel and location Add/Remove Programs. Click on WeatherEye GOLF and Uninstall or Remove. The removal process may take a minute or two to remove all the files from your computer.
If you are running Norton Personal Firewall and would like to install the WeatherEye GOLF, first make sure that the Norton Firewall icon in the system tray is allowing incoming traffic. Once you begin the download process, Norton will recognize that The Weather Network is attempting to connect to your computer and will display the dialog box, "Always block connections from this program on all ports (recommended)" DO NOT SELECT OK (doing so will block the download process and any future downloads from www.theweathernetwork.com)
On the screen, you will see a pull-down menu in which you will select. "'Always allow connection from this program on all ports". If this popup message appears again during the installation process or during the initial start up of WeatherEye GOLF, again select ""'Always allow connection from this program on all ports" prior to clicking the OK button.
If during the installation process, you accidentally clicked the default selection, "Always block connection from this program on all ports" you will need to access Norton Personal Firewall and remove www.theweathernetwork.com from your blocked list. You can change this setting by right clicking on the Norton Personal Firewall icon in your system tray and then selecting Norton Personal Firewall (at the top of the menu items). This will open up a dialogue box where you will select "Statistics" from the left hand navigation menu and then click the "View Logs" button. Within the Log Viewer window, select "firewall" from the left hand list then click on the page with the "x" through it in the top bar. Click "yes" when asked if you want to clear all log entries. To download the WeatherEye GOLF, visit http://www.theweathernetwork.com/desktop/weathereyegolf/ and follow the prompts to download the application.
WeatherEye GOLF has an embedded Internet Explorer browser to run the application and connect to our data servers. Clicking on links within the app will open those windows just to view our golf course information on TheWeatherNetwork.com but it will not affect your default browser settings.
