The traffic data comes from various sources throughout the country, while we have traffic cameras and highway conditions for most areas and cities in Canada, our traffic flow and incident data is limited to the Greater Toronto Area at this time. We are working diligently with municipalities, transportation and police authorities to provide data for major cities across Canada and will expand as the data becomes available. In the meantime, you can scroll the map across the country if you wish to view Highway Conditions and Cameras outside the GTA.

There are several reasons why you may not be seeing weather data:
TrafficEye is available for Mac. Please click here to go to this product page, however, it has not been compiled for earlier Windows or Linux operating systems.

By clicking on the chevron/arrows at the end of the toolbar, it will collapse. You can maximize the map view toolbar again by clicking on the arrows.
There is a radio button on the map view toolbar that will allow you to switch between Traffic Flow and Conditions by clicking on the appropriate button. The map will not display both flow and conditions at the same time due to competing coloured lines.
When you have toggled onto Traffic Flow with your map view toolbar, there will be a legend at the bottom of the map that indicates the association between the coloured lines and the speed. If you roll over the coloured squares in the legend, the approximate speed in km/hr for each colour will be displayed.
The traffic flow is determined by speed sensors embedded in the road. Occasionally, these sensors may be deactivated due to weather conditions, traffic incidents or construction. The maintenance of the sensors is monitored and services by the municipality. If there are grey lines on the road that means the sensors are not receiving or sending speed data for that road segment.
The colour orange is the default colour of the major roads as identified in Virtual Earth mapping software. This colour is not customizable and comes standard with the Virtual Earth software.
When you have chosen to view Conditions on your map view toolbar, a legend that relates to the colours on the map will appear at the base of the map view.

The Road Conditions is currently a seasonal product that is particularly relevant during the fall and winter months in times of heavy precipitation periods. This data is available across Canada. Zoom out on your map to view Conditions for areas outside of the Greater Toronto Area.
By clicking on the button beside the “Cameras” in the map view toolbar, the camera icons will show up on the map at their location points.
Roll over the camera icon with your cursor/mouse and the camera image will pop up.

On some zoom levels there are so many cameras that they cannot all be displayed on the map, in these cases, one camera may represent several on a closer zoom level. Click on the camera to zoom in closer on the map to see the images.

The cameras are owned and serviced by the local municipalities, occasionally the cameras may go down due to weather conditions or maintenance. The cameras will be back online as soon as they are fixed.
We have over 700 Traffic Cameras available nationally and over 160 located in the Greater Toronto Area. The "My Cameras" section allows you to save 10 of your favourite cameras along your preferred route to access easily. To open the "My Cameras" section, click on "OPEN MY CAMERAS".

Once you have located a preferred camera for your driving route or desired location, click "Add to My Cameras" at the bottom of the image. This will automatically populate the My Cameras section will the image.

Click on the "Open My Cameras" section bar and the saved thumbnail images of your cameras will load. Press the white arrows on either side of the first and last thumbnail to scroll through. To enlarge any particular image, click on the image itself. To close your “My Cameras” section, click "Close My Cameras" on the section bar.

To view traffic incidents on the map, click on the button beside incidents. You can view both traffic cameras and incidents on the map at the same time but it might decrease the performance while scrolling the map due to increased amounts of data.

Roll your cursor over the red incident icon to view the description; it will pop up over the map view.

On some zoom levels there are so many incidences that they cannot all be displayed on the map, in these cases, one incident icon may represent several on a closer zoom level. Click on the incident icon to zoom in closer on the map to see the images. You may have to zoom in to the closest level.
