FAQs for TrafficEye

Answers

  1. I’m having problems downloading the TrafficEye application. How do I get it?

There are several reasons why you may be having trouble downloading TrafficEye:

    • You must click “RUN” to start the installation of the TrafficEye application on a PC Windows operating system.

    • You must have administrative access to download any applications to your computer. If you are unsure if you have administrative access please refer to your Operating System manual or speak with your IT support team. Alternatively, you can prompt the TrafficEye installer to load the application onto your desktop files. In some instances, the application can run from here but you will need to enter this information during the installation process, please see picture below. Click change and enter new location for files.

    • If you are operating with Windows Vista you may encounter additional Account User Control security screens and pop-ups. This is an element of the security settings with Windows Vista and will delay your download process slightly. Please be patient and click "CONTINUE" and/or "ALLOW".
    • Are you connected to the Internet? An active internet connection is required for the TrafficEye to get updated data from our servers.
    • Do you have a compatible operating system with our TrafficEye application? Windows XP or Vista operating system is required to operate this application.
    • TrafficEye also requires Microsoft Silverlight 2.0 to run on your Operating System. This run-time is bundled with TrafficEye for those users who don’t already have Silverlight 2.0 installed. You have to accept the license agreement that is mandatory by Microsoft to complete the installation.

    • There could also have been an error installing Silverlight 2.0 or you could have an earlier version of Silverlight that did not update. Try removing any TrafficEye and Silverlight programs from your Program Files in your C://Drive and install again. For more information on Silverlight, click here.
    • When we release a new version, it takes several days to update all of our customers. If you have received a prompt to upgrade but have clicked "later" it may take some time before you see the prompt again. If you want to access the latest version quickly, you can install it from here.

We are working diligently with municipalities, transportation and police authorities to provide data for major cities across Canada and will expand as the data becomes available. In the meantime, you can scroll the map across the country if you wish to view Highway Conditions and Cameras outside the GTA.
