An intense low pressure system will develop today off the east American seaboard and will then move northward while increasing. The storm will move to lie over the Gulf of St Lawrence Sunday morning and over Labrador Sunday evening. Significant amounts of snow are expected in areas east of Minganie and over the eastern region of Gaspésie. The snow will begin this afternoon and will be combined with strong winds which could generate blowing snow at times. The snow will change to rain overnight over the Chevery and Blanc-Sablon areas.
