Snow squalls off Lake Huron and Georgian Bay are likely by this evening. Local snowfall accumulations of 15 cm possible.
Snow squalls, accompanied by blowing snow due to strong winds, have developed in a cold northerly flow off of Southern Lake Huron and are affecting the Sarnia - Lambton area. These snow squalls are expected to persist there through about mid afternoon then gradually shift to affect regions to the east of Lake Huron, along with regions to the southeast of Georgian Bay. The primary concerns with snow squalls are rapidly accumulating snow due to heavy snow fall, and very low and variable visibilities due to falling and blowing snow. These factors can result in treacherous travelling conditions.
