Wind Warning

Issued at 09:01 Saturday 06 February 2016
Summary

Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring. A fast moving weather system also known as an Alberta Clipper is moving across Saskatchewan today. In its wake, very strong northwest winds with gusts to 90 km/h are expected to develop, early this afternoon in the west and late this afternoon in the east. A cold front behind this system will bring flurries and local blowing snow tonight as winds shift more into the north. Winds tonight will remain quite strong in some areas, gusting to 80 or 90 km/h especially in southeastern regions. Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to storm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports to #SKStorm.
