Snowfall Warning

Issued at 10:22 a.m. CST Friday 28 November 2014
Summary

Snowfall, with total amounts of 15 to 25 cm is expected. A Pacific frontal system will continue to bring snow to southern Saskatchewan today and tonight. The snow will taper off in most areas overnight or Saturday morning as an arctic high pressure ridge brings colder and drier air. As of 10 a.m. 13 or more cm of snow had already accumulated from Saskatoon through Lloydminster, while 5 to 10 cm had fallen in most other regions. The snow has now moved into the Nipawin and Hudson Bay areas, and as of 10 a.m. 4 cm has fallen in Hudson Bay. Areas south of the Trans-Canada have escaped with little or no snow. Further snowfall amounts today and tonight will range from 10 to 15 cm in areas north of the Trans-Canada, with lesser amounts as you go south. Winds of 30 gusting 50 km/h today will give reduced visibilities at times due to blowing snow. Snowfall warnings are issued when 10 cm of snow or more is expected to fall in 12 hours or less.
