Wind Chill WarningIssued at 9:36 PM EDT Saturday 15 March 2014
Wind chill values will be extreme over these regions tonight or Sunday night.Details
A low pressure system near Matane will track eastward to reach the Anticosti Island Sunday morning. Areas near and north of the low pressure centre will see significant snowfall amounts. A total of 40 to 50 centimetres of snow is expected over the Lower North Shore by Monday morning. Winds will also reduce visibilities to nearly zero over these areas. Additionally, in the wake of the low pressure system, westerlies up to 90 km/h will affect the coast of the Gaspé Peninsula and Anticosti Island beginning tomorrow near midday. Consequently, visibilities will be reduced to zero in blowing snow over these regions. Meanwhile, very cold temperatures combined with moderate to strong winds will give wind chill values near -40 over Northwestern Quebec tonight and over the center of the province beginning Sunday evening. Plan your travels and check road conditions before heading out.
