Updated snowfall totals for this weekend's storm show slightly lesser amounts in parts of Ontario. The stormy conditions however, could still impact holiday plans.
Snow Squall WarningIssued at 11:31 AM EST Wednesday 11 December 2013
Visibilities will be strongly reduced in snowsqualls late today. Drive safely and adjust your driving to winter road conditions.Details
The presence of a cold and unstable air mass over the St. Lawrence Estuary will be favourable to the development of snowsqualls along the northern coast of the Gaspé Peninsula and over the Anticosti Island. This localized snowfall will be accompanied by blowing snow, which will significantly reduce visibilities. Significant snowfall amounts are possible locally. Finally, an Arctic air mass currently over Northwestern Quebec is tracking toward the mid-north of the province. This icy air combined with moderate winds will be favourable to an extreme windchill over the Northern Quebec regions.
