After the mild and rainy conditions of the 24th, westerlies will develop this morning with a very sharp cold front crossing over the Upper Saint-Laurent. These winds will spread eastward during the day and will reach the Gulf of St Lawrence this evening. Winds of 70-80 km/h will be widespread in the wake of the front, and gusts will reach up to 90 km/h in areas near the St. Lawrence River. These winds will gradually diminish over the west late during the day.Details
Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds. Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds. Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required.
