Blowing Snow Advisory

Issued at 10:56 a.m. EST Saturday 31 January 2015
Summary

A low pressure system just south of Nova Scotia will move toward the Gulf of St Lawrence to lie just east of Anticosti Island Sunday morning. Strong winds will develop in the wake of this storm. Freshly fallen snow combined with winds will give widespread blowing snow, significantly reducing visibilities in these regions, especially as of this evening.

Details

Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Weather Advisories for blowing snow are issued when winds are expected to create blowing snow giving poor visibility to 800 metres or less for at least 3 hours. Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required. Please continue to monitor your local media or Weatheradio for further updates. If you would like to report severe weather, you can call 1-800-361-0233 or send an email to tempsviolent.quebec@ec.gc.ca. You may also tweet reports of severe weather to #meteoqc.
