Summary

Rain, heavy at times is expected. The frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall. The weather system affecting the province is accompanied by a mild, humid and unstable air mass from the Gulf of Mexico. Total rainfall amounts expected for these areas will be near 25 millimetres and could reach 40 millimetres locally, and even 60 millimetres over the Lower North Shore and the Gaspé Peninsula.

Wind Warning

Summary

After the mild and rainy conditions on December 24, westerly winds will develop on the morning of the 25 th. Strong winds gusting to 70-80 km/h will be widespread all day long. Gusts will reach 90 km/h in areas near the St. Lawrence River. Strong winds will develop in the morning for areas between Montréal and Quebec. For areas east of Quebec, the strong winds will develop in the afternoon. Winds will abate in the evening.

Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds.
