Blowing Snow Advisory

Issued at 11:07 p.m. EST Friday 30 January 2015
Summary

A weather system off Cape Cod will move toward the Maritimes Saturday and reach Newfoundland Sunday. In the wake of this storm, strong winds will develop. The combination of fresh snow and winds will cause widespread blowing snow, strongly reducing visibilities over these areas, beginning mostly Saturday evening.

Details

Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Weather Advisories for blowing snow are issued when winds are expected to create blowing snow giving poor visibility to 800 metres or less for at least 3 hours. Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required. Please continue to monitor your local media or Weatheradio for further updates. If you would like to report severe weather, you can call 1-800-361-0233 or send an email to tempsviolent.quebec@ec.gc.ca. You may also tweet reports of severe weather to #meteoqc.
