Issued at 4:19 a.m. EST Thursday 27 November 2014
Summary

Heavy snowfall with blowing snow is expected. A low pressure system over Nova Scotia will move toward Newfoundland this evening. Snow associated with this system is currently falling over the Gaspé Peninsula. It will become intermittent near midday and taper off this afternoon. Snowfall totals of 15 to 20 centimetres are expected before it all ends. Moreover, strong northeast winds are causing blowing snow in exposed areas.

Details

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Winter Storm Warnings are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather are expected to occur together. Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required. Please continue to monitor your local media or Weatheradio for further updates. If you would like to report severe weather, you can call 1-800-361-0233 or send an email to tempsviolent.quebec@ec.gc.ca. You may also tweet reports of severe weather to #meteoqc.
