An intense low pressure system over Newfoundland will continue to track northeastward. Very little snow is still expected tonight over the Lower North Shore but strong to high winds will continue affect the region producing blowing snow. Another low pressure system over the Central United States will intensify and reach James Bay Thursday evening. Snow will develop this evening over Western Quebec before changing over to freezing rain which will last several hours. This area of freezing precipitation will gradually move eastward during the day on Thursday. The vast majority of regions north of the St. Lawrence River will be more or less affected by this freezing rain. Regions east of James Bay, however, will see significant snowfall amounts.
